Valley Radiologists, Ltd. (VRL) and Scottsdale Medical Imaging, Ltd. (SMIL) announced the merger of their medical practices by the formation of Southwest Diagnostic Imaging, Ltd. Combined, they will be the largest provider of complete diagnostic and interventional radiology services in Arizona. Both groups bring multiple outpatient medical imaging facilities and strong hospital relationships to the partnership. The merger will further strengthen their ability to provide patients and referring physicians with the highest quality radiology services, the latest technology and comprehensive Valley-wide service.

Valley Radiologists is made up of 30 board-certified radiologists and over 350 qualified staff members and has provided radiology services for over 40 years. One of Arizona’s largest radiology providers, Valley operates 10 imaging facilities and provides radiology services at two area hospitals: Banner Thunderbird Medical Center and Banner Estrella Medical Center.

SMIL, comprised of 40 board-certified radiologists, has provided exceptional patient care for over 20 years. The largest radiology practice in Scottsdale, SMIL operates eight separate locations for imaging. SMIL radiologists also provide hospital imaging services for Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn and Scottsdale Healthcare Shea. SMIL currently employs over 200 skilled technologists and administrative staff.
